12 x 16” Oil on canvas
On a Spring evening in Tubac, Arizona, the sun and the moon were having a race to see who would finish first – the sunset or the moonrise. As you can see the sun is still shining on the mountains, so the moon won (this time)! A magical time of day - even the shadows are luminous.

On the edges of Tubac, Arizona just north of the Mexico border, the dirt roads rise up into the hills and disappear. This road leads to a beautiful art-filled home we visit every year in Tubac, and is a favorite path for walking our basset hounds. I love how the colors of the sky and the road complement each other in this piece.
